IRR stands for Infrared Rejection. It measures how much of the sun’s infrared heat a tint film blocks. Infrared rays are what make your car feel hot inside. A higher IRR keeps your car cooler and reduces the need for air conditioning.
Simple example:
A film with:
TSER: 60%
IRR: 95%
…means it blocks 60% of the sun’s total energy and 95% of infrared heat. That’s a solid, high-performance film.
So IRR alone isn’t the whole story—you want a good TSER for actual heat reduction.
TSER stands for Total Solar Energy Rejection. It’s the percentage of the sun’s total energy—heat, visible light, and UV rays—that a window tint blocks from entering your car. A higher TSER means better heat rejection and a cooler, more comfortable interior.

“I couldn’t be happier with Artic Tint Studio! I brought in my Tesla Model S, and the tint looks flawless — classy, not too dark, and keeps the heat down. The team was professional and explained everything clearly. The tint is clean, and I’ve already had friends asking where I got it done. Highly recommend if you want your car looking amazing!”
